Welcome Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Prelude

We Will Worship You-Whittaker sung by Keisha Prime

We fix our eyes on You
You are God alone
We fix our eyes on You
You're our only hope
For all we have to lose is our very souls
We fix our eyes on You
You are God alone
We fix our eyes on You
You're our only hope
For all we have to lose is our very souls
Save us from these comforts
Break us of our need for the familiar
Spare us any joy that's not of You
And we will worship You
Yeah we will worship You
Satisfy us Lord in Your unfailing love
Satisfy us Lord that You would be enough
We have nothing here let Your kingdom come
Save us from these comforts
Break us of our need for the familiar
Spare us any joy that's not of You
And we will worship You
Yeah we will worship You
Hallelujah Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah
Save us from these comforts
Break us of our need for the familiar
Spare us any joy that's not of You
And we will worship You
Yeah we will worship You

Opening Words  (Luke 10: 27—28)
Love the Lord your God,
with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your strength, and with all your mind!
Love your neighbor as yourself,
with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your strength, and with all your mind!
Do this and you will live!
Let us worship God!

Gathering Prayer
Holy God, you call us to live out your justice and righteousness.  Help us to walk in your footsteps, so that we never lose our way.  Enable us to live and love in the way that you have taught us, so that we can act in grace, even with those who we consider our enemies.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Call to Confession  (2 Chronicles 7: 14-15)
God said to Solomon, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray,  seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.”
Let us humbly confess to God in song.

Assurance of Pardon
God’s unconditional love does not seek outward appearances or conditions, but loves in such a way that the truly repentant are restored to health and to wholeness.  Thanks be to God!  In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Thanks be to God!

Prayer for Understanding
Holy God, this is the time when we quiet our hearts and our minds, to pay attention—
to really pay attention—to what you have to say to us today.  Fill us with your Word, and give us understanding by your Holy Spirit, that having heard your Word, we may live lives worthy of you and find peace for our spirits. Amen.

Readings from the Hebrew Scriptures:   Amos 7: 7—9 NRS

This is what he showed me: the Lord was standing beside a wall built with a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.  And the LORD said to me, "Amos, what do you see?" And I said, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "See, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass them by; the high places of Isaac shall be made desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword."

Reading from the Gospels of Luke 10: 25—37 NRSV

Just then a lawyer stood up to test Jesus."Teacher," he said, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"  He said to him, "What is written in the law? What do you read there?"  He answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."  And he said to him, "You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live."  But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead.  Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.  So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.  But a Samaritan while traveling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity.  He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.  The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, 'Take care of him; and when I come back, I will repay you whatever more you spend.'  Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?"  He said, "The one who showed him mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

We will sing the three verses and then sing them as a ‘round.’

Special Music  Hands And Feet-Audio Adrenaline sung by Keisha Prime

An image flashed across my TV screen
Another broken heart comes in to view
I saw the pain and I turned my back
Why can't I do the things I want to?
I'm willing yet I'm so afraid
You give me strength, when I say
I wanna be your hands
I wanna be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me
I'll be your hands
I'll be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me
And I'll try, yeah I'll try
To touch the world
Like you touched my life
And I'll find my way
To be your hands
I'll abandon every selfish thought
I'll surrender every thing I've got
You can have everything I am
And perfect everything I'm not
I am willing, I'm not afraid
You give me strength, when I say
I wanna be your hands
I wanna be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me
I'll be your hands
I'll be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me
And I'll try, yeah I'll try
To touch the world
Like you touched my life
And I'll find my way
This is the last time I turn my back on you
From now on, I'll go out, send me where you want me to
I finally have a mission, I promise I'll complete
I don't need excuses, when I am your hands and feet
I am your hands and feet
Hands, feet, go, go
I wanna be your hands
I wanna be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me
I wanna be your hands
I wanna be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me
I wanna be your hands
I wanna be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me

Postlude  And They'll Know We Are Christians-Scholtes sung by Keisha Prime

We are one in the Spirit
We are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit
We are one in the Lord
And we pray that all unity
May one day be restored
Chorus:
And they'll know we are Christians
By our love by our love
Yes they'll know we are Christians
By our love

We will walk with each other
We will walk hand in hand
We will walk with each other
We will walk hand in hand
And together we'll spread the news
That God is in our land (Chorus)

We will work with each other
We will work side by side
We will work with each other
We will work side by side
And we'll guard human dignity
And save human pride (Chorus)
