Welcome
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ .

Prelude Be Not Afraid-Talbot sung by Keisha Prime
You shall cross the barren desert
But you shall not die of thirst
You shall wander far in safety
Though you do not know the way
You shall speak your words to foreign men
And they will understand
You shall see the face of God and live
Be not afraid
I go before you always
Come, follow me and I will give you rest
If you pass through raging waters in the sea
You shall not drown
If you walk amid the burning flames
You shall not be harmed
If you stand before the power of hell
And death is at your side
Know that I am with you through it all
Be not afraid
I go before you always
Come, follow me and I will give you rest
And blessed are your poor
For the kingdom shall be theirs
Blest are you that weep and mourn
For one day you shall laugh
And if wicked men insult and hate you
All because of me
Blessed, blessed are you
Be not afraid
I go before you always
Come, follow me and I will give you rest

Gathering  (leader/people)
Blessed be the God of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
God has given us a new birth in the living hope of the resurrection.
God has given us an inheritance that is imperishable and unfading.
In this we rejoice, even when we suffer trials.
For although we have not seen Jesus, we love him; and although we have not seen him, we believe in him.
For the outcome of our faith is the salvation of our souls.

Gathering Prayer Almighty and eternal God, by your grace you have called us to this time and place to be your servant people as we follow our servant Lord. Make your Holy Spirit move within and among us, that together we may live a new life in the crucified and risen Christ. Bind us together in faith, so that as we receive all spiritual gifts needed to fulfill our calling, we may support one another in common ministry; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

*Hymn   Christ is Alive!”                         Glory to God (GtoG) hymnal #246

Call to Confession

Even when we were dead through our sin, our merciful and loving God made us alive together  with Christ and raised us up through him. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God.

Prayer of Confession
God, you have made known to us the ways of life. Yet, too often, we put other things above you and turn away from the ways of life and toward the ways of death. Forgive us and guide us back into your presence, that we may know the fullness of joy. Hear now our silent prayers… Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness
My friends, God is our refuge and will not abandon us.
Thanks be to God.
Lead a life worthy of your calling with humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in love, and making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you
Turn to those near to you—or across the room—and smile, nod your head, indicating that your share these blessings with one another

Prayer for Illumination
Living God, open our eyes that we may see. Open our hearts that we may feel your Spirit stirring. Open our ears to hearing your Word, read and proclaimed. Amen.

Reading from the Book of Acts         Acts 2:14a, 22b-24, 36-39 NRS
But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them, "Men of Judea and all who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to what I say:
Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with deeds of power, wonders, and signs that God  did through him among you, as you yourselves know--  23 this man, handed over to you according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of those outside the law. 24 But God raised him up, having freed him from death, because it was impossible  for him to be held in its power.
36 Therefore let the entire house of Israel know with certainty that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified." 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?" 38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins  may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him."

Reading from the Epistles           1 Peter 1:3-9NRS
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who are being protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials, 7 so that the genuineness of your faith-- being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire-- may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Special Music  "A New Thing"-Hillsong Young and Free sung by Keisha Prime
These are the days that we prayed for
A stirring of faith has begun
And I've seen so much, still I'm certain
That the best has not yet come
(Sing)
'Cause Jesus, You're not done with me
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
And I see a wave of revival
Preceeded by justice and praise
The young and the old run to Jesus
Oh, and all the sins that held us back are laid to waste
Jesus, You're not done with me
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
For all I've seen, I still believe
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
In us, oh
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
I know
I know (we sing)
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
I know
I know
Jesus, You're not done with me
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
For all I've seen, I still believe
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
(This I know)
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
Your love is never gonna give up
You never give up
You never give up on me
I know
I know
Jesus, You're not done with me
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
For all I've seen, I still believe
You're doing a new thing
You're doing a new thing
We're ready for what's yet to come
Ready for what You've got next
We're ready for the past to pass
We're running where the future is
It's coming like the rising sun
We wanna see Your kingdom
Come do a new thing
Oh, come do a new thing
'Cause You're doing a new thing
Oh, You're doing a new thing
Ooh, oh-oh

Prayer of Thanksgiving and Dedication

Holy God, you have given us land in which to grow and thrive, food for survival and pleasure, air and water, fire and cold. Make our thanksgiving bloom forth into the lives of others in the name of the one who gave everything for us. Amen.

The Great Thanksgiving
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
In every time and every age, O God…we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed are you, O God…According to Christ’s commandment:
We remember his death, we proclaim his resurrection, we await his coming in glory
Blessed are you, O Spirit, giver of life….Amen.

Prayer after Communion

Gracious God, Here at this table we celebrate resurrection as you feed us with bread and wine. And as much as we might prefer to stay here in this protected place, you send us back to our work— only it is no longer the same work because we know you are with us and in us, shaping and transforming us to be your witnesses in the world. Nourished in body, mind, and spirit, may all that we say and do give you glory. Amen.

Postlude Blessed Be Your Name-Redman sung by Keisha Prime
Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name
Every blessing You pour out, I'll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out I'll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name, oh
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
God you give and take away
Oh you give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name, oh
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name
You give and take away
God give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
God you give and take away
Oh you give and take away
But my heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
Oh you give and take away
God give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name, oh
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name.
